About Us

Local Weybridge plot-holders, prospective allotmenteers and other keen gardeners are invited to be members of Weybridge Allotment Holders' and Gardeners' Association (WAHGA).

There are currently over 300 WAHGA members, and membership is free for the year ending 29th September 2024.  If you would like to join us simply click here and complete the brief membership application.

WAHGA manages activities such as horticultural advice for members, community and social events, requests for mentoring and other assistance.  A regular Jobs for the Month bulletin (specific to local growing conditions) is sent to all members.  For a further description of the many and varied activities which are organised by WAHGA, please click on this link.   WAHGA Activities.

A very active and popular facebook group is a great way for members to swap notes - and free produce!  The facebook group promotes an additional sense of community.  WAHGA Facebook Group

WAHGA is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Association CIO) managed by elected Trustees.  The charity trustees delegate some of their powers and functions to an Operating Committee, having determined the terms and conditions on which the delegation is made.  Volunteers also support the trustees, and anyone who is interested in getting more involved with the group should contact WAHGA directly Click to email WAHGA

Key to WAHGA's objectives is the provision of opportunities for learning about sustainable horticulture, and improvement of the physical and natural environment in the Weybridge area.  Conserving natural resources and improvement of wildlife diversity, as well as projects to improve sustainability, reuse and recycling are also included in WAHGA's activities.   Assisting and advising local allotment plot-holders and gardeners on best practices is also a focus area.

All WAHGA members are members of the Association CIO.  This model is ideal for a large community group which wishes to have a wide voting membership.  We holds an annual AGM to which all members are invited.  The agenda is sent out in advance and trustees stand for re-election with confirmation via the AGM.  The WAHGA constitution is  available here
