Bonfire & Sausage Sizzle
6th November 2021

BONFIRE SOCIAL

A perfect evening for the WAHGA Bonfire and Sausage Sizzle. A great turnout and lovely to see people meeting each other for the first time and to hear lots of chatting. Scrummy sausages in buns, and thank you for all the other delicious contributions. The bonfire was stupendous!

Work Party – 14th August 2021

HAZEL COPPICE

On a perfect sunny (but thankfully - not hot) Saturday over 20 WAHGA members joined us for our first working party. We had been forced to take a break running group working parties for obvious reasons, and were delighted to be able to get a willing and able group together at long last. Our task was daunting - clearing an extremely overgrown area - and we didn't expect to make much of a difference given the challenge. However, it's amazing what 20 people can achieve in 3 hours (with a much needed tea and cake break to spur us on!). Thank you to everyone who turned out and worked so hard. We plan to run more working parties so do watch this space. A special thank you to the junior members who renovated the bug hotel and provided excellent jam tarts and cakes.

Summer BBQ – 22nd August 2021

SOCIAL GET TOGETHER

We were thrilled that so many WAHGA members came to our summer BBQ. Having watched the rather dodgy weather forecast on an hourly basis for the few preceding days we were so lucky to have a glorious sunny day for our first social event for quite some time. It was particularly heart-warming to see so many members meeting each other for the first time and chatting away well into the afternoon. Certainly an event to be repeated.
